I would like to introduce myself. My name is Emanuele Fabio Fortunato, I'm a violinmaker. I would be glad to give you some information about my music house "Liuteria Scarli" which is located in Modugno, near by Bari in Southern Italy.
My family "Fortunato" has been building violins, violas, cellos and mandolins for famous workshops in Naples, Cremona, Bologna and in other italian towns for 40 years. 1958 the noble family Scarli that lived in Modugno donated our family part of their palace giving us the opportunity to carry on this profession in our hometown and to establish the music house "Liuteria Scarli" which still keeps the name of our benefactor.
Thanks to the working experience that we had with violinmakers of many different italian towns today we are able to build violins, violas, cellos and mandolins taking as a starting point the works of Gagliano, Guarneri, Sannino, Stradivari together with a model of ours that our family hands down since three generations and that has been perfectionned all these years over. Please feel free to contact me for any kind of information you might need. Thank you for your attention. Best regards Fabio Fortunato Liuteria Scarli Modugno Italy
Emanuale Fabio Fortunato says: “the violin, and music are my passion, it is my world and I live for it intensly.” |

My education as a violinmaker has ancient roots that go back to Naples where my great-grandfather has been a pupil of the maestro Vinvenzo Sannino so this passion for the violinmaking is part of my personal history since three generations.
